60 Years - Celebrating 60 years of Flowes Store VFD serving the community with a spaghetti dinner just as they did when the department was formed. We still have a very dedicated and hard working group of individuals who continue to serve the citizens of the Flowes Store Community. They put in countless hours to train and respond to emergencies despite the increased demand on time and having to pay $4-$5 a gallon for fuel. A lot of people have served with this fire department over the years. To all the people who have served and currently serve with Flowes Store VFD, we say Thank You!! Happy Birthday Flowes Store VFD!!

Formerly introducing Ladder 13. This truck is not new but it is new to us. This 90's model Pierce 105' aerial formerly served a small department in NY. It was very well taken care of and has a lot of life yet to give. The project started several years ago to replace our former rescue truck either with a larger rescue truck or ladder truck. We were able to find this truck that had the space we needed to carry all the equipment from the former rescue truck, met our size requirements, and also offered an aerial ladder, aerial waterway, full compliment of ground ladders, and a small water tank and pump. While there are no high rise buildings in the Flowes Store area, there has been a lot of larger new houses built in the area that are the size of a 3 story building and have roofs with a very steep pitch. These challenges can make our job very difficult when we need to access upper floors and roofs with ground ladders. This truck will help us to overcome those challenges and make our job a little easier and safer. Personnel have been training with this truck since the first of the year and Ladder 13 officially went into service in May of 2021. You can take a tour of the truck by checking out the photos below.
